Aww thanks so much for playing! I really enjoyed your play through and the way you read/voiced each character!
Momotarou is the antagonist in my Froot Basket trilogy! I wanted to explore what happened to him after the events of the first game, Froot Basket Valentine! I'm currently working on the last game in the trilogy. I hope you'll give the series a look!
Thanks again for your interest and for giving this short VN a go!
Thank you so much for watching! I'll definitely add those games to my list! You said they are the antagonist, that's so intriguing that this is what they were really going through!!
This was very interesting concept. I enjoyed it. ^_^
Thanks so much for playing! I enjoyed your play through and appreciate your criticism!
Sometimes when creating, one lives in their head too long, so it's hard to imagine what it's like reading/playing this from a blank slate. I think I assumed that if you somehow found this, you probably were familiar with my body of work. BUT this is not always the case. I agree that including at least a sentence to callback the plot of my previous projects would make the whole experience a little less confusing. Momo is the antagonist in previous projects, so I wanted to explore him and his thoughts after all the events of said projects.
I thought about using senpai's name, Jordan, for this. However, since Jordan is the player character in previous projects I decided against it. As you have demonstrated, a poor decision on my part... After watching your play through, you're right. As a short game written in English for English-speaking audiences, English should be used to avoid less confusion. I think it's not so important to know that Jordan is Momotarou's upperclassman. It's more important for the reader to know that Jordan is someone Momo cares about. And since this is such a short project anyway, it's probably best to use "Jordan" rather than "senpai".
Thanks again for playing and for you feedback! I will update for future readers to enjoy and maybe make more of a connection with Momo.
Ah, that makes sense! I honestly had no idea this was a side story of another project. Thank you for clarifying that! ^_^
It does sound very interesting though. :3
Honestly, I don't know what to say, the game has moved me so much. First of all, I have to salute the GUI, it was very atmospheric, and the music was a huge contribution to it, and added so much! Then, the vulnerability of Momo really touched me, and the game painted his remorse and his self-exploration so masterfully, it really touched me a lot! Also, needless to say that I loved the art, and the use of the sprite was AMAZING, honestly, a clever way of using O2A2's restrictions to make the story even more impactful!
The Froot Basket games were on my list of games to play when I have more time, but it definitely motivates me to make time for them! The whole experience was so poetic, I can't believe it was made in two days (minus the gorgeous GUI which came with an update).
Congrats on making this, this is certainly one of my top entries, if not my top entry from the jam so far!!
!!!! chiiiimmm!! thank u so much for your kind words! glad u like my choice of music too! when i heard it, i knew i had to use it. it influenced the direction of the project visually too xDD originally, i had wanted to make something spooky and creepy, so i was looking for a horror track or creepy lullaby. but that darn song was so good... im rly happy with how everything turned out and rly proud that i was able to at least get the main meat of the project done in time.
the vibes of the various Froot Basket games are quite different from this one, but if you get the chance, i do hope you'll enjoy them! thank u again!
AH MOMOTAROU!! OMG! <3333
You don't know how happy this game made me
and like very, very sad because like poor MomotarouI loved that we were able to explore more sides of him, especially abt his thought after FBV, and to bring his namesake into the picture was good plus the demon ofc is a highlight with brilliant way of the mask changing between them as they talked.AH! Absolutely loved it! Amazing work once again!
!!! thank u so much! it was a last-minute decision and suggestion from a friend, so i'm rly glad you enjoyed it! i've been meaning to do something with his namesake too, so im glad i fit that into this project c: im happy u like the mask-changing too. i thought it was rly fun xDD
thank u thank u again~
